[ukvac] Nuts and volts MAME rig.
The American magazine Nuts and Volts (which can be bought from Borders
bookstore) has a front page splash showing an "arcade quality game
controller for your computer".
The article basically covers the adaption of existing keyboards to use
proper Happ arcade controls, and extolls the virtues of getting MAME and
blagging the ROM files.
Unfortunately the article concludes with....
"Buy a dead arcade machine, gut it, and install a PC with an arcade
controller interface. Better yet, buy one of the "cocktail" cabinets
that allow two players to sit face to face and use it as a living room
coffee table. Have fun with your project."
I can almost see the classics being "gutted" for a half baked MAME
abortion as I write this.
