Opening CPS-II boards

Hi,

Thanks for all the replies regarding batteries on boards. Doesn't sound too
bad ...

I have 3 CPS-II boards and do not know how long the batteries have been in
them and so will need to change them soon. I know that I have to wire in a
temporary battery to retain power while the batteries are swapped. The A and
B boards are fastened by two clips but also have a metal rod running through
both in the top left corner. One end of the rod is convex and the other is
flat with a Capcom "C" stamped into it. As this appears to be a tamper-proof
method then is there a tool available to remove this or is this a case for
something more drastic, such as drilling it out etc??

Actually... If you wedge a flat edge screwdriver in and try to wedge the
thing apart - you'll find the solid rod is actually quite a weak two
part rod which simply clips together. You won't even have to use much
force.
