Re: [ukvac] OT: Competion Pro Joysticks

Oh, PLEASE tell me they work on the Atari VCS too?

(Obviously only if they DO!)

I ALWAYS wanted one of them when i was a kid but i never owned one of the
computers they worked with!!

I have a feeling the VCS (Woody version) is compatible with anything that has
the "D" plug on the end joystick-wise isn't it?

Martin.

[ukvac] Re: OT: Competion Pro Joysticks

Lee,

Thanks for the heads up on this one - nice price too.
I still have some knocking around, 1 with the 15pin d
connector(old PC type), and some old 9pin d Atari ones.
Sheesh, brings back memories...had an adaptor somewhere to
put to 9pin d's into the printer port on Atari/Amiga thus
letting you play Gauntlet with 4 players!!!! WOW.

BTW, there is an adaptor to convert the 15pin connector to USB
out there somewhere(I paid £15, however I'm hope they're less now).
-oh just found it, it's called "Rockfire".

Cheers,
DaveO.

Atari St's had 4 joystick ports (or it might have only beed the STE that had
ports 3 and 4?) Anyway I remember my ste had 2 15pin D's on the side that
could be used for analog joysticks/atari jaguar pads/ or standard joysticks
with 15->9pin adapters. Unfortunaly I never had 4 working joysticks at the
same time so never played 4 player gauntlet on my ST :( .... but i have the
machine now so I can be happy :)

Re: [ukvac] OT: Competion Pro Joysticks

The old original one will work fine on a VCS, should be able to find one at
a car boot/charity shop or eBay (or buy the USB one and rewire it!
