I'll give it five more minutes before the media blame his death on some kid
playing GTA3

Or that listening rock/metal turns you into a pyscho killer. Nothing to do
with the fact you were fucked up anyway...

Fuck off you total wanker. Have some fucking respect for the dead whether
you liked their band or not.

So, using that theory I should have respect for Hilter then?

As far as I know Pantera and DBD were not mass murders, bit of a
stupid comparison dont you think.

Erm, nope. Not unless he was part of a popular beat-combo that I am blissfully
unaware of :)

Not forgetting that sketch in "Not the Nine-o-clock News" where the two
politicians are arguing with each other then one of them has a heart attack.

Mel Smith and Rowen Atkinson acting as two politicians arguing with each
other.
Rowen Shouting "Paa! that's crap!" (or something like that)
Mel Shouting angrily "This is the kind of man........"
Rowen clutching his heart "Huuguuguu...."
Mel still shouting "....who...."
Rowen "Huuguuguu...."
Mel ".....who....."
Mel in a calm voice "....who.....will be greatly missed...a great
politician......" etc

Just trying to lighten the conversation.

RE: [ukvac] OT: For those of you that liked Pantera

Some general serious questions about mortality (on the back of a few
flippant Hitler/Pantera comments):

a. If you don't respect/like/have any emotional attachment to someone
when they are alive, why should or does (our) opinion change when they
die?
b. The idea of "Respecting the dead"...what are we respecting? The sense
of loss felt by others? The life or achivement of the (dead) individual?
c. When celebrities die, why do we (in general terms) feel that loss?
For example...the enormous public show of grief when Diana was killed.
How/why do we identify with them? How do they become "ours" to mourn
when we have never met/known them?

I think what was being said was it was in bad taste. Fair enough if the guy
died of old age - or maybe even a heart attack or something.

He was executed in this case though, shot in the head 3 times point blank at
a concert.

I for one agree with skitz and thought it was in bad taste.
