Back from holiday and peeling already
( Am sure I'll look like a leper by
Wednesday...
Anyway... Got a few loose ends to tie up - so here goes:
Gav - the cap kit arrived and I'll post it tomorrow don't worry about
payment cos you're a star.
James Greenhalgh - can you let me know whether you received whatever PCB it
was that I posted you (I forget) cos haven't received payment while I've
been away.
Jon Pinckney - hope you've still got those Outrun parts ;o) PLEASE let me
know...
D-Type - XY unsurprisingly didn't phone while I was away, but I'll be back
on it when I'm in the mood (which isn't quite now...) But thanks for asking
him about it, I might even just write those two boards off as 'lost' and
give up...
Andy - September 15th you say??? Yeah I'll pay another visit, you can count
on it.
Guddler - *ahem* there's good news and there's bad news... The good news is
that someone else is getting to buy you a new headlight and bumper
combination as they obviously mistook 'parked car' for 'open road'.
Fortunately Mr. WhiteVanManDriver is someone from the row of shops below me
so compensation is readily forthcoming (this should be off list really, but
I'm on a roll now). Second piece of good news is that obviously with Gav's
cap kit came two nice Asteroids high score save kits (oh yeah Gav, I didn't
buy from Bob Roberts in the end because of the payment thing - but don't
fret it is the full kit with transistors) so I'll either pop it in the post
or give it to you next time I see you (which actually could be quite soon
cos I'm on a promise with a fat chick in Nottingham). Oh yeah... The bad
news... I forgot to send you a postcard ;o)
For anyone that's interested, I went to Ayia Napa in Cyprus. There's plenty
arcades out there, I stumbled upon: Puzzle Bobble (POB on first and second
place) at a measly seven million though, must be on hard) Time Crisis
(only managed 7th) loads of Astro City cabs with multi-slot Neo Geo
motherboards in them, frick me it was like the worlds supply of them - with
such gems as: Metal Slug 2, Turf Masters (Zzzzzz), and other crappy
titles... Only saw that one Puzzle Bobble in an almost dedicated cab. What
else... Final Lap, Super Hang On, Hell Night (although I'm trying to leave
out the modern stuff, cos I'm sure its pretty obvious that they were there -
only saw one Dance Dance type machine strangely though) Hyper Sports and
Wonderboy in generic cabs, nothing really 'classic'... But there's cabs
everywhere! Even saw a couple of cocktail tables inside a hotel bar but
afraid I didn't bother to go in and check them out.
On the music front, there really is something for everybody. I spent pretty
much the whole holiday in the Rock Garden cos that's a bit of me (Gudd you'd
love it!) But there's bars everywhere playing all different sorts of music.
I expected it to just be clubs everywhere which I suppose there are... But
not like how it was, it was a very friendly relaxed place other than the
obligatory PR's that keep asking you to go into their bars/ restaurants
which does drive you mad after a while. Funny though, I *ahem* chatted up
one of them and it turns out she went to my school and knows all my
friends - its a small world...
Anyway, back to the grind... Well tomorrow maybe ;o)
