Hi,

A friend of mine is looking for a good company to buy Japanese Dreamcast
consoles/games from..

I thought some people on here might be into Grey Import Consoles and stuff.

Thanks

Thats quite good, I have bought a lot of stuff from CEX in the past (usually
when I can't be bothered to track it downelsewhere), but they do normally
tend to be expensive. One note though, does that JAP dreamcast include a
power stepdown, if not you'll need one which will set you back £15. Plus
you'd neeed to run it either through an NTSC tv using the rf lead, use it on
RGB scart or a VGA monitor with an adaptor to get a colour picture. You can
pick up Dreamcast RGB scart leads for about a fiver, vga boxes are around
£15-£20.

Re: [ukvac] OT:Import Console places
nah doubt it will come with a stepdown for that price,
i use a s video lead on mine for 2 reasons
1. i cant be bothered to reach round the back to change leads (s vid socket
on front of telly)
2. some jap games will not work with a scart lead

RE: [ukvac] OT:Import Console places
I work for JPM International and we are owned by SEGA. I spoke to one of the
SEGA bigwigs by the nume of Jun Yamada and he tells me that there is a shop
in London called Oriental City that have been selling japanese Sega games
and consoles. He says that even if they don't have any at the moment they
can probably import them. I'm not sure of the address but he says as soon as
he finds it he'll tell me so I can forward it on to you.

Cheers

Merry Xmas

Mike

Oriental City (used to be called Yoahan Plaza) is in Collingdale (pretty
near the end of the Northern Line) Splendid place for all things oriental...
games, books, magazines and food (including both supermarket and sitdown and
takeaway restaurants), also has an arcade too. It's a MUST VISIT every time
I visit London :)

Re: [ukvac] OT:Import Console places

get off at
burnt oak station (northern line)
turn right and walk down to the main road
cant miss it

the arcade has gone bad recently , they only have £1 a go machines dance
dance , daytona , tekken 4 ,and a couple of other recent games , it used to
be a good place for game challenges when they had a lot of fighting games in
there . The game store is tiny .. I suppose if you wanted some foreign
goods from them you would have to ask them to import they dont have much in
stock.. unless I keep missing another store there that has imported game
stock

Of course - if you're after imported Saturn games - you could do a lot worse
than simply asking myself or Mike Bevan if we have what you're looking for.
