[ukvac] OT: Mains Lead/Plug Question

Hiya

I have just picked up a non-VAC piece of kit which has a non-standard
mains socket on the rear and I'm not sure where to try for suppliers of
a suitable input lead.
I certainly don't have anything lying around which fits.

The device is rated at 220VAC and the mains socket is rectangular with
two vertically-oriented pins side-by-side.

It's larger than the "figure-of-8" types found on old cassette decks and
hi-fi kit.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Alan )

Hmm, would that be a Revox B77 by any chance?
Those plugs are near impossible to find.

RE: [ukvac] OT: Mains Lead/Plug Question

Nope...it would be a Roland GR-700!)

I think it's non-UK spec, 'cos all of my other GR-700's have standard
Euro Sockets...

Someone just told me that a mains lead from an old Akai S9000 sampler
may fit (not posessing one at the mo, I can't confirm this!)

)

Why not just open it up and replace it with a standard socket?

Assuming of course that you are comfortable with doing so. :)

Of course I am! :eek:P

That'll be a last resort...it's just that if I can find a lead, I'd
sooner keep the thing as Mr. Roland intended it...

)

Oh THOSE bloody things. Chances of finding one are very slim, you
might be better to convert it to an IEC kettle socket after all...
Wish I stil had my GR500, crap but ever so cool!
