Good luck Paul! I just spent a week shrink wrapping, cardboarding and re-shrinkwrapping 12 uprights to ship west to east coast and it was a nightmare. I used WAY more shrink wrap that I ever imagined... maybe I was being too careful but the costs really added up! Hope it goes well!

Would love to see pics of the process if anyone has time. I will post some pics of my games all wrapped and ready to go.

Sorry, UKVAC was down at the time...

I’d like to give a big thank you to all those that volunteered – something of this scale would have been difficult to achieve without your help. Though I didn’t have much time to chat, being kinda busy ;), it was still good to see some faces I’d not seen in years and some new ones.

After two days of preparation, the games were ready to go:

The driver initially freaked over the narrow dead end street but with some reversing it ended up in the “right” place to load. One thing that’s not obvious – deep inside the container is quite dark:

A real test of strength – getting the Zaccaria cockpit on. This one and the Star Wars cockpit were the difficult ones:

Half way through loading and so far things are going well:

All games and boxes on. I’d booked 3 hours for loading and everything I’d packed got on in less than 2 hours. There’s a little bit of space left (that's me and my dad):

Originally, I didn’t have time to sort through & pack the monitors so was planning on being unable to take them but with an hour spare and a little bit of space left we decided to get them boxed and on. The volunteers helped box up the Hantarex's:

After it’s all done, my place is empty aside from the 5 that are staying to be sold off/traded:

Final check with the driver before it’s time to wave them goodbye until early June:

One I’d sold off was a 2 player Gauntlet. After 12 years sat idle the Gauntlet powers up and works fine:

And finally, all the volunteers who made this possible - what a great community we have :) :

Paul.

Hi,

Final delivery was Saturday June 16th :)

The conatiner set off late, the driver had no GPS, plus some maneuvering was required to get the container down the drive that resulted in a bit later start than expected. Cut the customs seal, opened the doors, and everything was right where I left it! Nothing damaged at all - perfect! Such a relief to see it all again.

Due to side chains on the lift gate of the rental, we loaded the rental and then pulled away from the container so they could than be unloaded off the rental to ground level. A two-step process but it worked well.

My son took a few pictures:

Now to unwrap and make a start in them :)

Blimey the new place looks a lot nicer than the old one :)

Very happy to hear everything arrived intact, must be a massive weight off your mind. Also great to see you've got a bunch of willing helpers on the other side too. This is where VAC show's it's real character, people will always pop up to help out ;)
