To be honest it’s mainly going to have Excel & PowerPoint running on it 😁. I had a couple of dell monitors and my knackered old eyes were struggling to focus. This is much bigger and brighter. I think it’s something like the equivalent of 2 32” 4k screens side by side.

you just need a decent CPU then, if its purely a work taskmaster, then the GPU wont matter as much so save yourself some cash in that area

i wouldnt go with the industry leading and considered the best AMD CPUs though, they are just a mid range company

that last statement is one from a complete fanboy of the highest order

It's exactly what someone from AMD said! They want to expand in midrange, to grow the companies percentage of the market. So you know where you can shove that slight ;)

It is exactly x2 4k screens but on one screen in terms of actual resolution.

they are the only direct competitor to Nvidia in that space, just because they want to expand in the mid space, it doesn't mean that is all they are...lol

Mainly work (sadly still have to do that to pay for this shit 😁), but I'd like to be able to game on it too. Current pc is a mini pc from Zotac with a 2070 mobile processor in it. To be fair it's been great and happily played most games at 1440p but this screen needs something a bit better to do it justice. I always get a bit carried away when looking at things like PC's but trying to strike a cost / performance balance this time.

Which probably means I'll end of with some ridiculously expensive over powered monster 😁

From what I've seen the 7900 xtx or 4080 super strike a pretty good cost / performance balance but waiting to see some reviews of the latest gen to see if it's worth considering (or brings the price of the previous gen down)

im not sure the new cards will offer more pure power, infact they wont, they are banking on the other stuff(DLSS and FSR)

unless of course you want to pay upwards of 1k on a GPU

i played a few games on my setup the other day and felt like complaining to specsavers, clearer than real life

Part picker is great as mentioned plus you can check other builds people have done - on it at the moment doing a build with a rtx 3070 gpu as the base, bit older, but you can build something pretty decent it seems for not loads. It is tho always tempting to max stuff out !!
