Yeah, I think you are right Dave, you used to be able to put your name in your profile (if you wanted to), but it seems to be missing now. I think there’s a lot of people who prefer to be anonymous so they didn’t fill it in anyway.
I think it’s ok just to call them by their forum handle/nickname if you don’t know their real name.

Yeh true , At evenings and weekends my name is different
(Davina) ! lol.I just like putting a name to folk , But as you said , Some people like to be anonymous. I always forget names so was easy just to look at profile.

i dont think it matters too much, whenever i have PMs with anyone i always put my actual name at the bottom of the message

I have my name in my signature but you can choose not to show signatures...
I too often do that but most ‘old boys’ know me anyway and my first name …. 6

The thing I notice more is that less members post on any topic which means many of the enjoyable past topic reads no longer appear… some regular postings from the previous platform era seem to have dried up .. I look at new posts and some days there’s hardly any ?
Get those thumbs off the playstation knobs and back on the type in keyboard!
If people lose interest nobody will read the tech problem issues .. worse nobody will help then before too long we will have a disappearing ukvac bit like jammaplus etc.
Bit of good light banter always goes well and we all like pictures of latest acquisitions , gamesroom upgrades , full collections and even comical unrelated stuff from time to time but tales from the crypt past memories are always a good read imo ! Been playing since the sixties and love to see what other people restore, collect or struggle to repair its all part of the hobby .. give generously named or anonymously… by id handle if it helps?

I'm more interested in their general location than actual name, especially when they have something for local pickup, not that that much appears over here.
Agree - sometimes you only find out a member lives just 15 miles or so away when they buy an eBay item and collect and then surprisingly disclose they are on one of the collector forums too !
I also agree , Easier before. But again some didnt fill it out but not many.
