Hyperpins your best bet John, has a lot of great tables and all themes and artwork and stuff. You use that in conjunction with Ultrapin and pinmame and future pinball, and there are loads of tables.

Its not easy to set up though tbh, so be prepared for that....

Best tables Ive seen I think have had a 42 inch as the playfield then a 20-22 as the back and some have the top half of an older 4:3 LCD tv for the DMD display.

I think you need a pretty grunty PC with a graphics card that can handle all that. and lots of cooling. Sign up over at the hyperpin forums, bags of information there and there are stacks of youtube vids that should give you a good idea on build etc

Id love one, but the cost is out of my range tbh. that and lack of space, same excuses different day lol

I like the idea of hooking up solenoids to emulate the feel, investigate that.

As for the monitor, ebuyer usually have some ok deals. Make sure its one with a very generous viewing angle!

then start saving for a pindmd (www.pindmd.com) so you can use a real DMD with the emulated tables, and also have a look at BAM for future pinball - uses a couple of wimotes to track your head and update the display accordingly (http://www.ravarcade.pl/)

then as mentioned above, you can get a LEDWiz or similar, and use it to driver replay knockers, bumper solenoids and flashers

basically, you can spend as much on a pincab as you do on the real pinballs - I think mine is up to about £600 so far and still plenty of toys to get !!

martin should be here for 9ish, i just missed out on 2 40" lcd units

1 of them was in blackburn, i was hoping to pick it up at the weekend, it would have saved a lot of hassle. i just hope this doesnt turn into another touch screen juke box, that project has been in the garage for about 2 years now
smiley36.gif
i think the shell still has a playfield, if it has, it can get some flashing lights in it for some wall art, yeah just like the dolly parton playfield. i think i need cosine to build me a suitable pc for this
smiley20.gif
but at least its starting to move forward now

There were some on the webpage, but I've fitted the real DMD now, so need to update them.

Also ordered the PS3 Eyetoy for BAM, so that will be the next thing, then one day, I need to make it look pretty!

eye toy arrived, so BAM next on the list of many things to do, but
here's a pic of it in it's naked glory. (I will make some pretty
surrounds and put the glass back on one day)

most of the changes are behind the screens - better PC (3.4Ghz triple core, since there's more to run!), PinDMD v2, LED DMD, down to 2 screens so put the Nvidia in rather than the ATI (FP likes it better) and of course, I wrote the software to drive the DMD from within Future Pinball

still need to fit the LedWIZ, knocker, flipper mechs, some lights and of course the eye toy! (which has now arrived)

for those interested, Williams Flash pinball cabinet, 37" samsung playfield TV, 27" backbox monitor - both fit nicely without too much wood work required, playfield monitor is actually sitting on the rails the real playfield rested on, uses a car amplifier and a pioneer sub for sound, and a uHid for input and nudge detection.

reet, just picked up a monitor for the playfield
smiley20.gif
it was a total fluke, i nipped round to a spar in the village next door to mine, grabbed a sandwich and a case of tennents and thought i might as well grab a quick pint, just the 1 though. the pub was empty then a guy i talk to now and again came in for a beer. i was telling him about the crap i have been getting from talktalk. so he says to me maybe you can help ??? so he told me about this big monitor that he was given by a neighbour. only problem is it won't run a tv picture but he can view his camera through it. so i asked if he wanted to sell it to me, no way he said, it cost nothing so you can have it for nothing
smiley4.gif
quick wheelspin out the carpark and 20 seconds later we are at his house
smiley36.gif
3 mintues and 17 seconds later, it's in the van, nice. i posted a picture of it on facebook if someone can snaffle it and post it here that would be great. so that's part 2 dealt with, at this rate it should be completed by about october 2016
smiley36.gif
just need to find a wee monitor and get mike to build the p.c.

total cost of build so far £30

karma is a weird thing, i missed out on the f-zero but got my telephone line sorted and a nice monitor for free
