Clarence Pier have some good arcades (a fair walk, but not too far). A Mario Kart GP, a Mach Storm (which made me feel a little sick but I thought was pretty good), a new Batman. They do have the usual penny pushers and fruit machines everywhere as well.

Thanks, I land at half seven. Colossally busy all week but will be looking to be entertained for tonight. Need to scout for a local eatery too. Must enjoy tonight because I may not get another chance over the rest of the week.

Located it on Google maps. Maybe a taxi from my hotel. Hope it's better equipped than Namco in London. Should be a good excuse to kill some time before I'm drowning in work, will be literally if the tide gets me under that pier.

Went to the pier. Hadn't realised I'd been there about 7 years ago. Sadly a shadow of 7 years ago and probably an eclipse of what it would have been in it's heyday.

Loads of bandits to choose from, eat your heart out there. Few games of any kind and I like driving games a plenty too.

Ferrari challenge looking worse for wear, scud racer, sega rally 2, batman, time crisis 4. Had a few goes but quickly lost interest. I have to say the Ferrari Challenge would be good if I had one in my possession but I'm not happy to plough money in where I can't adjust the seat and one monitor is out. Never mind.

I liked this place even seven years ago, it was the last place I remember playing Namco's Tokyo Wars on - great tank firing fun game blasting the crap out of everything.

What a pity, bandit paradise though.

This is how I remember it although you don't unfortunately get to see all the machines it had!

Jump to 3:14

Then Jump to 1:24 for part 3

You can make out the following:

Namco CosmoSwat!
Hard Drivin' deluxe
Space Harrier deluxe
Ride on Hang On
loads of JAMMA cabs (turned off though!)

I used to bunk off school to go to this arcade

I remember playing

Wizard of Wor
Tron
Discs of Tron
Cube Quest (so rare it hurts)
Dragons Lair
Starblade
Time Traveller
Galaxian3
Ridge Racer full scale

Know how you said you'd never been to Blackpool, that was some place back around 85 to 95 and before. When I was old enough to get a temp job of any kind, I used to save the lot and spend the entire day there on a Saturday and come home penniless with a raging head ache.

Went there two weeks ago with my six year old son and don't plan to return in a hurry or maybe at all. I hope that retro place takes off near M C Donald's. Would be the only reason I'd go back. My local bowling alley in Ellesmere Port has more on offer and it's not 2 hours drive.
