Possible purchase and restoration

I am considering buying a cocktail cab, just have a few questions. 1) if there are no keys for the coin door is there a way to open it without causing too much damage? And 2) is it possible to remove or reduce the impact of scratches on the glass?

Thanks.

I spose you could drill a hole inside the cab and get to the back of the lock, you could prob get some glass polish stuff but I expect you grin and bear it or buy some new glass/perspex.

Drill that mofo. I'm useless with my DIY skills but did it first time with pointers from here (same process):

depends on the cab and lock, I have a taito space invader cab with no key and I got a new key for it from ebay only 6 quid and works perfect on all the locks, job done

Like he said. Double check first as there are some very commonly used keys like the taito 7800,7900 and 8000 also the 250.

I don't know what the cab is or was, it's had a few identities possibly? The bit that needs to be drilled is a big metal plate which doesn't look very official to me. I wouldn't think any of those keys would work but I could be wrong...seeing as I know nothing

MASSIVE tip.
Invest in some decent He's drill bits. I've got some Dewalt ones that drill locks like butter. If you use cheap crappy ones they'll make the job near impossible, are liable to break and cause injury and generally make a pigs ear of the job.
ALWAYS wear protective eye wear as well. If a drill bit lets go, they can cause serious eye trauma. Pacman832013-11-23 15:19:58

Thanks, that's very similar to what I was hoping to be the owner of this weekend. Maybe will watch this on ebay and like you said use the legendary Martin to collect/deliver it
