Renegade in a Box - 1988 Your Sinclair prize?

Found some old Your Sinclair mags earlier today and was getting all nostalgic. Anyway, in issue 26, some chap called Carl entered a competition at Ocean and won an arcade version of Renegade fitted into a portable box. So I reckon peeps on this forum might know peeps who might know Carl or "Technical Steve" from ocean who did the build? Would be cool to see if it still exists and whether Carl still has it!

Sure did, but released both under the Imagine label

Edit; now i want to know about the Arkanoid one too !

Renegade was a very good port IMO, played the hell out of it before double dragon came along

Yep, got that same competition in Zzap mag too

Now years ago, I swear I saw one for Double Dragon in a flight case, but only found Renegade so far

Makes you wonder what happended to them and if the people that won them still have em

Slightly off topic but relevant - remember the TV quiz show 'First Class', they used to play Paperboy and Hyper Sports as one of the rounds. They were clearly playing the arcade versions of the games but there was no cab in sight! In fact I'm pretty sure the close-ups of the contestant's hands showed them playing the games on a BBC Micro

How did they do that then? One explanation might be they played the cabs before the show started and it was all just video footage.

I think about things too much.
