REVIVAL: Game Not Over 2024...Where's all the chatter?

As I've lived away from the UK for 15+ years, I'm not so up on the UK scene any more, but whenever something's going down that I think looks interesting, I first have a look on UKVAC, because to plan a 2000km round trip, I gotta get the lowdown first.

I found the REVIVAL 2024 announcement in the Meetings and Events section...but with just a few replies.

Strange I thought, why is no-one talking about this, such a great event in previous years. So looked across the rest of UKVAC...nothing. So I looked across Facebook in the UKVAC group...nothing, other than the regular posts from Craig.

What's going on? Don't people talk about this stuff anymore? Is there no discussion about what hotels are a good bet etc.? When I was a bit more of a regular here, OK decades ago or whatever, meets were the whole point of UKVAC.

I know things change over the years, but am I missing something here? As far as I can see, REVIVAL is a pretty big retro event for the UK and the last one I went to in 2019 was excellent. So who's going?

I'll be there, staying at the hotel by the event. Hoping to take my two DinoKing conversions (new motor dependant). Normally we all go for a curry in the evening, although the last one wasn't great. Really excited to hear Jeff Minter and Giles talk Llamasoft.
A high score comp always goes down well too.
See you there,
Ross

Thanks for all the responses, everyone. My flight's are booked to London, guess I better sort out a hotel now.

I'm looking forward to it!

Phil old chap, the UK hasn't exactly got more dynamic or well heeled since you left us in a trail of smoke from that rather dashing Supra you used to have
The 'vac isn't dead, it's just injured and just sleeping off the pain, like the rest of the country.... :)

I really wanted to go this year but I've a fucked foot so unfortunately, driving and playing stand up games is off the menu. Maybe next year 😞

Good to hear from you Mr. Doe, you clearly aren't dead yet.

Sadly, I never left in a trial of smoke, the Supra stayed on the drive in good old blighty. Until it was stolen, of course, just as I was about to export it to sunny Switzerland.

Maybe see you at the event?

I won't be there I'm afraid. As much as I love Revival to bits, family matters have conspired to stop me this year. Roll on 2025!
I think there may be other Dino owners in attendance so always worth an unofficial vac car-park car boot meet outside! :p

Did you make it then Phil? I only just thought about checking this thread to see what the date was... all work and no play makes Karl a dull boy... Shame abou the Supra really, I think it still (just) holds the record as the fastest I've ever travelled on four wheels, albeit as a passenger.

I did, it was a great event, better than I expected because the venue was bigger than I thought it would be. Shame you couldn't make it, would've been good to catch-up!
