I usually eat steak rare/med rare and love steak tartare and have a good immune system.

Its possible they just had a few bad ones, unfortunately cooking bad meat does kill the bacteria from multiplying but leaves whatever was there inert so your system sees it as a toxin and rejects it.

Was very rapid onset sunday evening, vomiting and bad ass and little bowel control, went on through sun night, just felt very weak yesterday, walking to the kettle knackered me out, mega shivers during night last night. Feel a bit better today, see how it goes today. Everything was tasting funny including my much loved cups of tea.

Hope everyone else feels ok again.

I've been "offline" with the same symptoms - recovering now..... Can only think it was the burger I had on Sunday - either that or we were all sharing something like Noro Virus around...

Fuzzy Junior and myself didn't eat anything at the event (apart from a couple of packets of crisps from the bar).

We did play most of the cabs and consoles though (without wearing bio-hazard suits) and we've been fine.

Hope all those who've been feeling poorly get better soon.

Those were illegally broadcast Premier League matches too! I noticed it said at the bottom of the screen, for broadcast in the middle east only! haha.

It's not necessarily what you eat. There are germs everywhere in arcades like this. You're all touching the same buttons, joysticks, door handles and god knows what else. Just takes one pair of dirty hands.

Keep alcohol gel handy at all times!

Also - the only game I played was the Revival Survival, early on.....

Maybe I got lucky!! - from not getting ill, and for being in that game!! ( Thanks Craig! :)

I was violently sick Sunday the day after the sat at event. I am currently in hospital awaiting transfer to heart ward as I had an onset of fast heart rate which they had to bring under control with drugs. All the excitement of winning the asteroids cab I think

It all seems a little random in what people ate and on what days people got ill - I had a burger on Saturday, bacon butties on Sunday and a cheese and onion roll over the weekend and I am fine.

My kids - both of them have been ill since Sunday night but are ok now. Two of my team had today off due to the same thing. My daughter's friend has had it last few days.

The venue has a 5* rating therefore I highly suspect that all of us together in close proximity has seen a virus of some sorts spread. That is the conclusion I have come to on this

Aww, what a shame! More importantly thank goodness you're seemingly past the worst of it - JEEZ!

Hells bells! So glad I didn't finish the burger I bought on Sunday as I could see it wasn't cooked that great (to be honest it came out the kitchen bloody fast! The Saturday one was on the grill at least double the time) I do believe beers could've saved the day for a few of us. I'm sure a great weekend wont be marred forever by this unfortunate situation ...

Hmm, whilst like boyo says I saw the 5* rating it'd be easy to let it pass as just a warning to the venue potentially acceptable - however perhaps seeing how many people are effected on this thread a call to Environmental Health is in order as it'd be a crime if repeated events like this are happening yet not alerted...

Of course its boyo's call [sic] as it's his neighbourhood and could have repercussions to him....

I'm feeling ropey this evening
smiley11.gif
and given I had a hotdog at the event I'm leaning toward the 'Airborne Virus' opinion of what the hell happened. Hopefully it goes away before Santa time!

Chef.

Just had a chat with Rav about the unfortunate illnesses. It seems like those who became ill became ill very quickly so if your starting to feel ropey today or tomorrow etc it's unlikely it had anything to do with the weekend.

I have seen the illness first hand with my 2-kids and they are now pretty much better and will be back in school tomorrow. It wasn't pleasant for them, and I am sure it was not pleasant for you guys who got affected. I've asked around, it seems about 10 people were taken ill, primarily on the Sunday when they got home, though I believe at least James was ill on the Saturday night.

It still seems a bit random, but is likely a food related problem at the venue. If anyone feels really strongly about all this, then I can make a call.

For me representing my 2 children, we are putting this down to an unfortunate experience for them and moving on - recognising that it was a hugely successful weekend, a bloody good laugh and great to catch up with friends.

I sincerely sympathise with those who are/were poorly and can only apologise it happened on my watch.

Edit: just spoke to Andy (best wishes again to your Mrs m8).
