I have been playing Robotron using the Tie-Die romset without issues since their public release a couple of years ago.

Today I played about 7 or 8 games and then I started a new game. On wave 3 I got killed in the upper right quarter of the screen (not corner) and then noticed my number of lives had increased to 75!

I then rushed to find my phone to capture the moment which by now had reduced the lives count to 58.

I haven't seen this reported elsewhere.

Very strange mate. Some progress...

I switched it on tonight and was faced with this message:

HIGH SCORE TABLE RESET BOOKKEEPING TOTALS CLEARED FACTORY SETTINGS RESTORE

It was asking me to switch the game off and on with the fromt door open which I did but I was getting the same message over and over and couldn't proceed. One of the other screens on the advance screens mentioned a CMOS error.

I replaced the Dallas NVRAM chip with a U6371DC and I can now play again.

I am not sure but I guess the NVRAM failing may have caused the problem I was seeing during gameplay.

Hmm...funny you should mention the CMOS error and the NVRAM....I had one of my Tiedie boards (i had two at the time) came up with that error a long while ago (it didnt have the extra lives bug though) so i got intouch with Jrok on Klov and mentioned this to him...up until then he hadn't come across this problem so he told me to post it baco and he'll replace it to which he did...free of charge and he took the hit on the postage as well
