Interested to see what people using sheds, outhouses, garages etc. are doing about temperatures and the elements in general.

Obviously damp is the enemy, but what about general heat, temps etc. for those that can't whack permanent solutions in just yet.

At least temporarily I'm limited to portable dehumidifiers, AC and electric oil radiators to keep a part insulated garage (attached to the house) warm. As much as I'd love to have it all sorted before summer is over, it will not happen so I'm in fear of autumn and winter trashing everything if I'm not careful!

my room is a converted garage which has been insulated all round, walls floor and ceiling. It gets very warm in there and i often have the doors and windows open so i have an opposite problem really. It doesnt have any central heating. Both heating and cooling is done by a Dyson AM09 fan

yes, it had a side door as well, also bricked up. Had a window put in where the garage door was and french doors as side access. the insulation used was higher spec than usual, which is the key really.

I'll still have a garage door, still not sure whether to partition it off or not which would help.

All walls aside from one, and the floor have a 'level' of insulation on, so I'm hoping it won't be all that bad.

About an inch thick...1000063332.jpg

Biggest problem you'll have whether you have heating or not is condensation.
Electrics and condensation don't play well.
If storing stuff wrap it well in bubble wrap and box it up with some packets of silica gel over winter.

I'm only really concerned about humidity, but always warm the room up too, before firing up any cabs. My old games room is uninsulated block work, which meant having to run a dehumidifier 24/7 over autumn and winter.

Thankfully I've got a spare I can use which is great, just need to pipe in the drain to outside.

i would parition off the door if you dont want brick it up. Anything you can do to keep the temp consistant will help. Also theres small round air vents in the roof on the outside between the insulation and the actual roof to help it breathe.
