Yeh i am not vat registered , I rang 01536 444079 - they can set an account up for you over the phone. You can get a basic cash account - does not have to be credit.

I set my account up years ago though so things may have changed as far as what information they require.

I just finished a role that was great , Had it years. The one I brought does not heat up well ( Says melts at 183 but more like 220 imo, my dolering iron set to 411 and my sucker to 450 and still struggles) so just sucks the top 20% of and makes it flat (Crappy explanation). I thought it was my sucker until i tried it on one i had not added solder to.?

I had a roll of lead free stuff that behaved the same I just couldent use it ended up in the bin

yeh its the worst solder I have ever used !!! I will keep you posted to how the one from RS goes.

The guy who i purchased the solder from off ebay wants images of the problem , I am a little unsure what he wants me to send ? He is clearly not uk even though his location is listed as uk - he is talking Chinglish to me.

Going to be a nightmare getting my money back I think !

Is there such a thing as counterfeit solder ????

I purchased the rs one with rosin and i am happy to say we are back in business ! Its brilliant solder, great for sucking too.

The only down side is its 0.7mm and i need another half that size as well and its not cheap. Will use the money i hopefully get back from the crapbay one.

I will post link to the exact one when back on a pc.

The only solder that I will trust to use now is the stuff that MGChemicals sells.

All their product lines are top notch.

Wow I often nurn myself holding it like I should, maybe I need this new technique. I can now solder replacement battery holder's at an ok level first time I did it I burnt a bigger hole in the board!
