scottish pinball open

a wee heads up on this.

on the 3/4 of december, there will be the first scottish pinball open, the event will be in dunblane. on show for use will be a very nice selection of pinballs all set to freeplay. if you fancy a few credits then why not pop in. im sure a few of the english guys will be travelling up for it. if you have never tried pinball then this is for you. there is also a scottish pinball league which runs throughout the year and is part of the uk pinball league. these events are family focused so you can bring the wife and kids. i believe entry is free for the open but a £2 entry is charged at the league meets to cover costs food/leccy. if i get a chance to talk to john before the open, then i might offer a few vids for the weekend. robotron, idcab running either id2/3, possibly a naomi or 2 and a jamma cab or so. it really depends on space transport etc. if you are coming up for the weekend drop me a line and i may be able to get you a good hotel with good rates.

on the sunday at the broch in kilsyth, we are holding a poker tournament. kicks of at 1.30, big money, big prizes, i love it. if you fancy your chances drop me a line.

Happy to say that I will get home on the 1st December, so fingers crossed I will take a trip up to this. Not sure if it will be by car or train yet, but i consider it sociable to have a beer or two when at any event.

he will have a great line up. he already had some crackers, but has just spent a whack buying up more pins for the event. he probably has the best set up in scotland. he was at replay and was well talked about possibly rav heard some gossip. i just dont want to mention the amount i was told, its his dosh. his cactus canyon was a joy to play, probably the smoothest pinball i have ever played. i tried getting 1 of his revenge from mars pinballs from him, no joy. we are hoping that we can also play a day on them at the same time for, the scottish pinball league. i dont know the spaces involved, but i could get a few cabs down from the garage.

dave do you play poker ??? weve got a £20 freeze out happening on the sunday. i also agree with you on the bevvy front

i can get a bus from here then a train from stirling. if we have a league meet, join up you might be lucky and get home for them all. i was up aberdeen on friday, got home at 10.30. i only did 2 jobs, it took me 2 hours to fit 2 batteries

and the sat nav took me to the wrong place, but hey thats life eh. the english guys on the sunday night session were talking about coming up for it, they were the northern lights crew.

getting to dunblane is easy, get a plane then a taxi

im pretty sure a few peeps will meet again at this

its only 20 minutes from here by car. but just in case, i will take the train. im looking forward to this, i know he has some great machines lined up for this event. i will post stuff when i know more.

what about, i pick you up in glasgow or yer hoose, then rick picks us up from here. we then head to dunblane, play pinball and do a pub crawl on the train, heading home

but yes indeedy some nice pinballs lined up. i think the village has a couple of pubs, so we should be fine for a pint, but stirlings only 5 minutes down the road. roz is going too so we will need to stop for food. hopefully a good few forum members will show up, sunday i will only be there until about 12.45, the poker game starts at 1.30. so i need to lose the car. saturday is good for me to indulge, before sunday which is even better

OH has the proper car this weekend and my back seats are only suitable for midgets, happy to give lifts to 1.5 people. I spose we could try to fold JB up in the back, how are the ribs?

get a train to motherwell, i will pick you up in the pit that is my car. we can then get a bus to stirling. im hoping rick is good for a lift from here. im thinking 10.30 kick of from here. if we get a lift from rick were sorted if not, bus to stirling, quick pint then train to dunblane. jugemscloud is also showing up, but not too sure his plans. give me a half hour to send some texts out. back soon.

Ok guys, this Sunday its pinball day. The meet is at Jon Higgins hoose located at carmyle. In total I think its 8 paintballs. There is also a fully working robotron too.

The meet starts at 2 o'clock and finishes sometime later. There is no train to carmyle on a Sunday though. If you fancy a day playing pinballs and robotron pop by. It's a pretty laid back event. It's a mix of families and players, food is also available too.

It costs 2.50 squids, this is to cover costs. Where else can you play pinball all day for that ???.

So make the effort and get yer butt over to this event, it only happens a few times a year.

I will add, that the meet is literally 5 mins walk from Carmyle station, and 2 mins from J3 on the M74. I will be offshore unfortunately, but have a beer for me while you are there JB.
