I started working on a Pac-Man cabaret cab just over Ten years ago but its been sitting unfinished for the last four or five years.
So I decided that I would get it finished by the end of the Summer, which I did!

It has an original Pac-Man PCB that has had a "Pacman Multigame Free Play and High Score Save Kit" installed (details of that board here: https://highscoresave.com/pacman-ms-pacman-multigame-free-play-and-high-score-save-kit)
A Wico stick
A restored Midway coin door
A 13/14 inch CRT. Albeit a TV using RGB scart. I actually have a spare monitor that is the right size now which I might swap in at some point
A new old stock control panel overlay
Repro artwork (might get front and side art resized from a full size cab eventually)
Went for Yellow paint instead of wood grain vinyl. Spray paint was a mistake though. I got a good finish in the end but it took ages. Should have used a roller.

I've uploaded a video to Youtube with some more pictures and videos of it working here:

Some pictures of the finished cab below:

10 years eh, sounds a bit like my projects, lol.

Looks really nice. Is the Midway logo on the coin door original as looks pin sharp. Actually watched the YouTube video and has answered that. New stick on :)

Yeah the original one that was riveted on was all scratched up, so had to get a replacement. It is made of metal like the original, just that it has adhesive instead of holes for the rivets.

That looks great 👍

I keep getting tempted to do one similar and a robotron but lack of skill and time, never mind space puts me off!

Ukvac member Chris Barrie cut a Robotron Cabaret for me(and many others), been a while since I've seen him on here though.

Hi glad to see this finished! Is there any chance you have a blue print for your design, as this kind of cabinet isn't on Classic Arcade Cabinets. This is the one I'm after for Galaxian.

I've got the file here. It's a little out of date. The "ears" of the cabinet are much smaller on the finished machine so they could do with trimming down on the model and the bottom vents were re-done mid project and I don't have the measurements on me at the moment. I can update the model at a later date.

Is there a way to upload the model here? Not sure how to do that.

Could you upload it to google drive and post a link, I'm sure there are a quite a few people who would want the plans for this cabinet.

@Shun That's a lovely build. This os my favourite of all the pacman variants, although I still don't really get on with the game that well.....

There's a definite place in the hobby for well built projects, especially if it's the only way to acquire such a cab.

Not to hijack this thread, but @funk If you check out my blog, I did a Robotron cabaret from scratch, if anything there helps or inspires you.

Thanks mate. The funny thing is about this project is that when I started it, I didn't think I could have bought an original one of these, but in the time that it has taken me to build this one, at least two have come up for sale that I could have bought, but I had already committed to building this one 😅

I'll have to have a look at that Robotron build (y)

Yeah, I built the Robo cabaret after playing one and really liking the monitor position over the upright, but knowing that even if one came up (one did eventually), I would never have afforded it.

@Mr20to5 I didn't know that, will check it out. Can't see it happening anytime soon but who knows! Agree with you, that as time passes by there is definitely room for well done accurate.build projects.
