Hi
I have a sega mega tech motherboard with issues. I will not read the cartridges.

Does anybody know how to trouble shoot these boards?

Thanks Kim.

I'm in the middle of setting up a test rig for these boards. Once I've finished fixing my mega-tech I'm going to be moving onto anyone else's. I'm trying to learn as much about them so that I can fix most minor faults in a single evening (that's the goal anyway). A number of us on the forums own faulty mega-techs so I'm looking to change that.

Personally, if I had the board, I'd be trying different carts in different slots and maybe boot it with just a single cart. Then, if no joy, I'd be looking over the tracks leading from the slots to the first IC; checking for continuity. Then I'd be checking the IC that deals with the games was actually responding (and so on...). There's a lot you can do with a multimeter way before you get the test rig and logic probe out.

Yes I get both monitors to light up. The upper monitor shows 1-6 lines with no game title. And the lower monitor lights up grayish. (I know both monitors work, have tried them on my test rig).
I have tried all my 8 cartridges, 1 at a time, 2 at a time, all 8, turning them etc……..

No I have never heard about a region switch. Can´t seem to find it anywhere, maybe it is in the dip´s?

Sounds great that someone is looking into these boards. I was thinking the same thing. Maybe I will start with the first IC´s after the cartridges. And see if there is a faulty one.

Thanks.
