its quite complex at the back! - and VERY heavy! - this alone weighs 3 stone!

I know its a Daytona one.. and I have Indy 500 kit, but I will figure out a way of connecting them..

More work on it soon!

I tried....

I have a few dim lit LED`s turn on... but I guess thats due to lack of power lol

it as a quick test - just adding one 5v connection and a GND to the board - there are 15 5v inputs! LOL

I have just received my new crimp set from ebay - so I can start making a proper loom :)

Looking good. The thing that has confused me about model 2 stuff is the number of boards and wiring etc. Am I right in thinking that, bare bones, you just need a main board, a rom board and a filter board to get, say, virtua fighter 2 going? Also can you do any more of those metal cages and sell them on
smiley17.gif
...if so I'd like three

There are many boards!!

Video - Main board

Rom - game board

Comms ( if u need more than one player - then double all of this list! )

Main Filter board - not needed if run without a case - not recommended + I dont know the pinout for that!

Main Amp

Lower amp ( amps only needed if you dont plan to use an external system - like a Hi-Fi amp :)

*FFB Assy : ( this will have a cage too soon )

Control board - that consists of 2 boards anyway

2 filter boards

*FFB Power board

* = only if you want FFB..

and the wiring.... WOW - 10 connections on the main filter board alone and most of those are 10way or more!

This is the FFB Control board with the two filter boards on it. So many wires JUST for that! lol

And this is the Sega Indy 500 wiring diagram that I have to work from!

:D

As for `selling cages` - if to fit the model 2B kit then yes I maybe able to supply - pm me ( no promises tho! )

my wife cadded it

I programmed the CNC machine to make it

Then I riveted it together and hey presto! :D LOL

yeah the boards are mint looking! been very well looked after by the previous owner - and myself!

Lets hope they work!

PS anyone have manuals for..

Virtual On

Fighting Vipers

Gunblade

Those are the other ROM`s I have...

I also have Virtua Soccer - but I never been into football in anyway! lol ( unless England get to teh top few matches in the world cup lol :p )

I am AMAZED at your cage! Even more AMAZED your wife cadded it!!! Lucky man!!

LOL thanks mate!

I could of cadded it.. but my wife really wanted to do it, so she had something `different` to design at work :)

I am working on a little filter box this weekend for the FFB controller :)

Pics will be up when I can!

And to follow that - I will start the wiring loom.... :)

Just to let you know.... next build in metal work will be a coin mech tower for my VR.

Needed to be setup and installed ready for an event in October :)

A new thread will be started in the VR forum when I get that going.

You going to wire that all up from scratch? I know somebody that has some complete looms from a Scud and Daytona cheap
smiley4.gif

Hi what kinda price? tho I may decline due to I have wired the lot already! - but my connectors are simple ones that don't clip onto the boards.

I have wired the boards complete now, just need to wire in the PSU that's on its way, and then the power board for the FFB - Thanks AndyGeezer!

FFB Control board cage is now made, and all fitted in place.

All wired up is the Main Cage, FFB Cage, Main amp, Woofer Amp, RGBS -> VGA converter.

with I/O connections for the external parts and controls ( Steering, gear shifter, pedals, audio, FFB Data, Coin mech data, VR zoom buttons/lights and start button/light )

I need to make a power distribution PCB up, so I can connect all the 15-20 power lines to the PSU.

Once done, I will then design a cage for the whole board set-up.

Pics up soon - my Pc was dead all week, I have had to buy a new CPU for it. All running now, but due to time away from PC, I managed to do loads of the wiring.

As I said earlier though, a coin mech tower for my VR machine will be made soon!
