I didn't record it no, but I'll make another video once I get under 3'20 or 3'19.

A lot of the improvements were the middle section of the second stage and I think the total of my best stage times is under 3'19 now, so I know I can do better eventually.

I have been trying but cant get the hang of it, cant get down the gears quick enough with the sequential shifter

Finally got under 3'23, which I thought I'd never do. I hadn't played for a couple of months, but I switched the difficulty setting to hard rather than normal, and the cars are definitely placed differently. Much easier to negotiate the forest hairpin, so I'm hopeful I can knock a bit more off.

Thanks, it's another step forward! I know I can do the desert time three or four tenths faster, so definitely room for improvement.

With the different car placement on the hard setting I can actually get a boost from the cars on the hairpin, rather than getting blocked!

Watching all the videos on this thread is great for improving times. Thanks guys!

Where am I going wrong on this game!

Played 10 games in a row today and it didn't matter how well I took each stage I finished just short of the finish line!

Getting around 57.5s on the first course. What should I be aiming for on stage 2&3?

I know you will know this - but have you checked your pedal pot in test for the max values. Just in case your not getting a full throttle.

TRY...

• Place the gearstick into neutral.
• Put your money in.
• Hold down the brake pedal.
• Select Championship.
• Highlight your car, but do not select it yet.
• On the gears, go 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th - you will now hear a "whoosh"
• Select your car.
• Release the brake pedal.

that will speed you up...

also - go into test and the difficulty gives more time or less time.

It maybe on "hardest" and you could try easier, to get more time until you work out where to get faster.

Its not hard to finish the game on hardest... but i could be confused with rally 2, and perhaps SR1 is very hard on the hardest. Your speed sounds ok (judging by video in 1st post)

Yea walk bumping is cheap.

A few of us are down to 3:26 and a few 3:25s in the arcade.

No wall or car bumping involved

Think I plateaued around 3.21 with no bumping but haven't managed to better that yet, although im sure its possible.
