Anyone had any experience with West Coast USA based shipping companies that they can recommend at all?

I'm trying to get a Williams Cocktail from Albany, Oregon, USA to the UK but it's ranking at about $450 land shipping to Thomas' container in San Jose, CA and then another $350 odd on top for the trip in the container.

Yowch!

Oregon has it's own port in Portland that connects to the Pacific (*or so WikiPedia says) so I'm hoping I can find a company that can ship directly from there

As usual any advice much appreciated!

Wasn't there recently a big container shipped over to the states into Europe, then they cabs were spread from there. The more I look on Klov and see things I want, dirty cheap and pretty much out un-obtainable, the more tempted I am to get involved in something like that.

Thomas container dropoff is in Hagerstown. There will be about £150 - 250 for transportation from Bremen for a single cab

Yep so that's $450 for the 9 hours travel to the container on the West Coast, the cost of the container place (*as very good as Thomas' prices are) and then the cost of shipping it from Germany to the UK

Yowzers....

I'm hoping I can find a direct ship out of Portland Oregon to London to avoid a. and c. and make the whole adventure even slightly less of a big money sink it's rapidly looking like at the moment!!
