I saw that a few guys on the retro scene attended the ZX Vega launch. I checked on indigogo and that privilege cost £100. The device looks alright but no one is saying what the real cost per unit will be.
I asked (on Twitter) the guys attending if the unit had the audio and power cables hard-wired into the console. The answer was yes and then the design was pretty heavily defended. I understand that those attending have an invested interest but surely we can all see that replaceable standard composite cables and USB standard chargers are best for the consumer. If this is aimed as a cheap plug and play (like those namco TV consoles) then fairy-snuff but if it's going to be more of a premium device then this sort of thing is essential.
Maybe I'm just too critical
it does look nice but there's a few things that don't sit right with the purist in me. I still love the ZX-Spectrum!
