How time flies.... I've now maxed out the space in my converted part and as has always been the plan, I've started to convert another 3x2.4 meter space this week. This still leaves a 1.5 meter space at the front of the garage for bikes, tools and other stuff!

It took me two days and a handful of runs to the local tip to make enough space where I could start some real work, but today I've been busy. I've added new wiring for some sockets, put up some stud walls on the outside walls as the garage is only single brick, insulated and started with the plaster board... The ceiling wil be insulated and have plasterboard like I did before, but this part of the garage has a car 'pit' so I'm not 100% sure how I'm going to cover this. The plan is to be 90% complete by this Sunday with room for some new cabs

I can't close in the end wall until I have a new garage roller door fitted as the current up and over door and it opens into the space that will have the wall, that will be sorted soon once I've got the space ready.

More updates and photos to come in the next few days.

That extra space is going to be fantastic...

Are you opening up the wall between old and new rooms or keeping the door?

Got any nice cabs to go in there

Yep... Shame I have to put up with the fridge/freezer and tumble until we have an extension on the house. There's space for 2-3 more cabs when they're gone, but any space is better than no space.

I don't think I will remove the internal walls from the old room, It's just too much effort in the time scales I'm working to. The wall next to the external door wouldn't create any extra room but it would be nice to have a full length row of games on the back wall. mmmm.

Just purchased the carpet

Great looking room and it's about to become awesome by the look of it. :)

I think there might be a few members wanting that carpet in their rooms before long....me included!!

Haha, had another busy day; paint, sockets, lights & Skirting fitted today, I'll post a photo tomorrow night.

My wife actually found the carpet googling for retro game room carpet, I then went to ebay and found some of the same stuff. searching for 'star wars carpet' on ebay will find some sellers who have it, in lots of different sizes. I hope it looks as good in real life.

So the walls are now painted, I went for Black on the walls as I already had the paint, at the Wife's request the ceiling had to be painted White. Just waiting for the carpet now, fingers crossed that will arrive tomorrow so I can fit it in the evening.

He he, this reminded me of when I lived back at home as a teenager and I painted my walls black whilst my mum was at work!!! When I moved out I think it took her about 8 coats of magnolia to cover over it!!!
