What flux? Use electronics solder, you're not plumbing.
We never used separate flux when I was at tech college. I never used it when I repaired PCBs for a living. It's built into electronics solder.

Most solder has flux impregnated
you see youtubers using A LOT of flux, get one of those flux pens if you want to try it out.
Flux is mostly to clean contacts to help with the oxidisation. adding new solder to an old joint usually works but extra flux can help in bad cases

I got a load of free rolls of solder, cheap chinese no brand stuff and I'm not sure it has flux in, will have to do the lighter test, seemed to struggle tinin wires, soldering pcb stuff okay

Yeah man,one of the long thin wires has come away from a capacitor,(not the board)i hot glued just to check the board would boot up and it did then removed the glue(temp fix)got some solder but sure its lead,not lead free.il figure it out.tnx guys.
