Quite funny Nick Poole CEO of UKIE was on tv showing a ZX81 , Nintendo & Wii consoles promoting home retro gaming today….good short news report for gaming.

It’s a rising trend …he says…. Who would have guessed it? But did also mention the ‘ biggest arcade retro place in Bury’. He might have been restricted in what he was able to say? As it could have been advertising?

But the featured item also showed a blogger called Jemma who got the opportunity to visit a couple of game exchange events and show off her home collection briefly how it had completely invaded her house …..

Who would think anyone could get so addicted to console gaming or arcade machines???? Nice to see the positive tv news coverage and it could help promote s/h sales for consoles and old home cartridge games if people think they are out of fashion ?

I am sure nobody here would agree… Nick did also say the old units are quite good at turning on and reliably running when they have been stored a while so… those we have on the shelf are probably still full of life even if we have neglected them for ages?

Bloody nerds...

Speaking of old units.. I was at a gaming market in Bristol yesterday and witnessed a rather sweaty vendor trying to sell a Game Gear that by his own admission needed recapping and didn't work with certain games for £150!
