sound leisure will be shut for the weekend and have been known to transfer workshop phones from the switchboard but the unit line can be an 0900 number (when dialled direct to the workshop) and you pay for technical advice on your billing just beware a couple of companies do that to save paying staff time to advise private enquiries , the facebook page may just be an on the side group of employees and possibly other collectors.
happily my Sound Leisure cd tudor in the house gives little trouble but if parts are ever needed i get in touch with Leon Reader at jukeboxparts.co.uk he has an extensive listing of not too costly items only he just breaks the old jukes (the parts are sold untested mainly) and only has limited knowledge so can't help with repairs, however he stocks parts for most makes/models and only the main amps and cpu's get expensive?
while they work they are usually very reliable ...... but i recently had a 'not seen' spin up issue (putting disc away without playing) and it was just the cd player to decoder ribbon cable plug needed to be run on and off its pins a few times must have oxidized slightly??? perhaps if you have any ribbon cable connects i can't recall the vinyl too clearly just run them on and off a couple of times ????a bit like surface contact on any edge connector ? my Vinyl in house is a 60s wurlitzer and that just suffers 'fairground effect ' for a couple of plays till it warms up when not used for months plays a bit slower but goes ok after about 2 singles, sounds like the rides at the fair when they draw the big current starting to rotate the ride and the turntable volts drop by 10% or more
those relays are often interchangeable and if you can see it operating just try see if its arcing a bit at the contacts,
they can with difficulty be opened for cleaning but usually best replaced, as contact cleaning can break the gold contacts surface and faults may worsen , and always try to replace the plastic cover save dust getting in............. on the old NSM hideaways it was often an advantage to have them open as you could scan and select with your fingers in dark pub cellars....to activate the carriage mechanism
...when the wall box selecter was upstairs in the bar 'miles away.'
if its belt drive its unlikely to be the belt unless its been stood so long and gone slack and eggshaped at the motor position i have a jupiter in the workshop does that its a 1974 victory and only gets to play if i am in there long periods when its not buried in other machines and parts but i recently had to make up two new drive belts from a length with some superglue and few minutes holding while setting dry as they do split perish and stay in shape if they harden with time (i just buy a meter of round rubber and razor cut and make O ring to size with chosen diameter from ebay )
