I bought this from @FinalFight back in April last year - top bloke who told me some of the history about the cab And how it had been damaged. I finally got round to getting it working and back together so wanted to share 😀

Original sale post with pics of the Machine: https://www.ukvac.com/forum/threads/original-star-wars-project.83205/

Main things I’ve done:

WG6100 Monitor
- Repaired and replaced components on the deflector, yoke and HV board including an LV2000, a new Flyback and chassis transistors and a lot of messing about with voltages and repairing traces
Atari Power Supply
- Replaced Big Blue and fuses
- Replaced some of wiring and connections into the fuseblock That had corroded
- Replaced Bridge Rectifier
- Added additional power plug for fan power.
Star Wars Board
- Replaced capacitors and transistors on Audio Board and capacitors on other boards + a few other IC’s and repaired a couple of traces
- Replaced missing POKEY
- Replaced AVG
- Replaced Memory
- Replaced some of the EPROMS
- Replaced sound synth chip
Cabinet
- Touched up some paintwork
- Stripped and lubricated Yoke
- Resprayed metal hardware - Yoke, Coin Door, Speaker Grille and Marquee
- New T-moulding
- Replaced bulb in Marquee - the marquee was an absolute nightmare to put together 😂
- Made new cardboard bezel for monitor - big thanks to @2huwman for sharing the bezel templates!
- Good clean!

I‘ve not done anything like this with an arcade before other than restoring a electrocoin duet, but that doesn’t even compare to this! I’ve learnt a hell of a lot and theres been a lot of looking at the manuals for the 6100 and the Star Wars boards/troubleshooting guide. Also a lot of help and guidance from forums here and also over on the KLOV forums so big thanks to anyone who’s given me any advice or guidance!!

Oh I also installed a vector labs ESB kit! Just got to do some cable management inside and then I can enjoy playing it properly!

Link to a vid of it playing:

Considering it was originally bought flat packed years ago it's great to see it all together, restored and working, Top Job dude

It means a lot more owning a machine you've put time and effort in to get working and for me I appreciate it more

Thanks all, yea really got into it and was determined to get it working again. Will be keeping this for a long time. I’ve got a couple of other cabs to restore now aswell.
I have a Team Play Centipede/Millipede/Missile command which needs converting back and a generic PAC machine that I need to do something with!
