Hey all , So we have lots and lots of questions on storage and though i would write how i now store mine. Prior to this i was using what ever boxes I had with plenty of bubble wrap in between. Never looks good and hard too see what is what.

So for the boxes , I decided to see what I could use as parcel boxes (I find) are expensive and as some of you know I am as tight as a ducks bottom so i want to do the best for as little as poss. This got me thinking and I started to measure and see what boxes are best. So after some thought ( A lot to be fair ) I came up with plain 14" pizza boxes, Yes i know Pizza Boxes !!!! They are around 14 1/2" square and 2" deep , plenty of space for 80% of arcade boards. I even ordered a pizza just to see if they would be sturdy enough and to be fair they are tougher than they look. Ok so the parcel boxes are slightly better but for storage I think these are fine.

Other sizes are available and I am going to get some smaller ones for the likes of testris and some of the smaller PCB's.

Cost per is 100 £33.50 including postage - Available in white and brown (Plain) here :-

Then I started to sort out the labelling , So I could just print off using my Dymo printer but it looks rubbish so I decided to design something in Corel Draw that I could insert the Marquee and and add a note to say what the ID was and if it was original / boot ect. I can fit 10 on a page.

So this is the design in Corel :-

And this is them printed ready to cut :-

Obviously you can use what you want to design but I have used Corel for years.

So cut them all out and label the boxes (They are flat pack but very easy to put together).

You will be left with something like this :-

Like with all boxes you have to watch how much you are stacking as they do get heavy and put pressure on the bottom box but this is the case with anything.

So not very exciting but though I would share and hopefully will help someone.

If you are using for long term storage wrap very well , Moisture pads and remove the batteries !

All the best, Leave a comment if you like.

Dave.

P.S The DJL numbers are generated by the arcade repair software.

P.P.S I am sure others will disagree and have other ways and thats fine , this is just my way.

Pizza boxes is a great idea and the labels look good.
Stacking them like that would worry me though. I’d line them up vertically like mozie so there’s less stress on the boards, particularly if they have feet/stands on.

' Anyway I’ll buy your ghouls and ghosts .offering 30 quid and a double pepperoni " If you had said a Chicken and mushroom with onions and peppers we would have had a deal mate ! lol. G&G Is a conversion but you would not know the difference in play , Still as Hard.

Mozie I have told you to sell you stuff to me very cheap , Stop hoarding !

Stacking like mozzie is a better idea if you have space but to be fair the other way is good too as there is hardly any pressure on the bottom stack due to each board being individually stacked. I was surpised how good the pizza boxes are.

I was expecting to get a ribbing for using them and being a cheap arse so happy other use these too.

Dave.

Anybody recommend some good anti static bubble wrap?

Every time I order any of Amazon it seems to be the really thin nasty stuff

I went with bigger boxes so so could bubble wrap the pcb's inside. About £2.50 a pop, but they double up as shipping boxes if you ever sell a game!
