[ukvac] "System One" info required
Good evening all,
at last the weekend :)))

Can anyone give me information on a board and PSU board I have:
Info on the boards -

RACE "AGO 189E" on the System One Power Supply board
and "AGO 182 B" on the main board RACE electronics 1983

I've no ideas as to what they were used for. Anyone?
TIA
Aidan.

Fruits. It was one of Ace machines fruit machine control systems
manufactured by Race who did a lot of that stuff.

The PSU has five LED's to indicate:-

5v logic,
15v audio, reel unit and inputs,
12v reel unit and meters,
38v multiplexed lamps, (12 lamps scanned on matrix)
50v ac to drive the payout solenoids.

The main board can drive 80 lamps on a monitored matrix and has a good
selection of input and outputs including the capability to drive up to
seven triacs for the 50v ac side of things. It's main processor is a
Z80A CPU and it uses an AY-3-8910 chip for sound.

Because it's a "money" machine controller, the system has a lot of
vigorous checking of the supply voltages and other things. If a supply
line goes down the system goes into permanent reset until the supply is
restored. You will also see a track running around the edge of the PCB
and leading via a pot into pin 2 of a 555. This is a spark detector and
is designed to detect the use of a piezo electric sparker or jammer
being used against the machine and resets the system.

Were you hoping it was a video game PCB?
