Taito cab serial numbers?

My Taito SI PtII (colour upright) has a 6 digit number stamped into the top of the right-hand side (as you look from the front of the cab).

This number is different from the other serial numbers on my cab (board, coin door and plate on back all have same number).

Am I right in thinking this number should be the same as the other serials in the cab? If so, it looks like the internals from another machine have been transplanted at some point (or the cab sides are from another cab).

No biggie, just always wondered and never got around to asking.

I'm not sure what that 6 digit number represents, but I don't think it has anything to do with the general serial numbers.

My SI PT2 doesn't match the rest of the cab either, and neither does a mate's one.

I thought it was a bit odd that it didn't match the plate on the back.

I'd always assumed some OP had put it on mine, then I saw another with one... No idea what it actually represents, but I think we can rest assured that our cabs haven't been chopped up at some point
