Taito Ice Cold Beer - UK Release

Does anyone know whether there was an official UK release of the Taito Ice Cold Beer machine...?

If so, did anyone ever see this in pubs or arcades back in the 80s...?

So I appreciate that there are a hndful in the UK and that some might have been imported after the US release... but I am curious as to whether Taito ever officially licensed one for the UK market...?

I have a Taitel one. It is exactly the same as the Taito one, and mine has the ticket machine too! Including Taito tickets! The side art says Taitel instead of Taito, however the bezel and CP say Taito.

I will be pulling it out soon for a restore so can take pix!

I also think there was another release, maybe by Electrocoin or some other like them. Rav had one, looked a bit different to the Taito one.

There was also a re-release in the early 2000's

I will know more tomorrow, but the one I have stumbled across is also a Taitel one (So presumably a UK release) it has Taitel side art and from what I can see from the pictures I have beeen given, a Taitel bezel and a yellow Taitel CP.

Would be interested to see pics of yours once I have it to compare...?

Apparently, he was aware of the UK release and told me that it made no impact on the market and so it was pulled... they only made about 100. The US release then came afterwards.

Get some pix up of yours. I've pinged Rav to find some old photos of his also. I can provide pix of mine in the next few days - hidden at the back of the garage at the moment, but will soon be set free now I have got my unit.

It created a right buzz at one of the meets I held at RKD and I'm sure theres a photo with about 20 vaccers hanging around it. Was a great machine!

Well that is great to see... that is exactly the same as the one I am getting.

Taitel Bezel, a yellow CP and the coin mech behind the joysticks. Also a different shape cab to the US one as the front section at the bottom is flat on the US release.

So Rav... I take it you do not have it anymore...?

Also, I noticed that the bezel sits alot lower on these ones... which shows the ball release hole more but then partially covers up the top few holes.

Glad to know that's the one you are getting. After hearing you describe it I was pretty sure it was the same style as Ravs old one.

Sadly not - I've drastically shrunk my collection from back then: but it was a painful one to let go of I can tell you! Hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I did

Very nice pic mate cheers... hopefully it will brign as much fun to my games room as it looks like that did.

Origianlly when I thought it was the Taito model I was goign to change the side art as there were a couple of corners missing, but now it has turned out to be a Taitel release it seems a shame to remove the origianl art and replace with repro Taito ones.

I know I need new balltops as the previous guy has got golf balls on his...

Do you know what size they should..? Also, am I right in thinking that the original US ones are red but the Taitel ones are black. And are they a standard thread...?
