Hi all

I picked up a vewlix off a vac member a while ago and thought I would share my workings.

The screen in the vewlix is 720p and in my eyes ain't cutting it in today's tech.

I tried everything to connect up a ps4 with no joy as everything was out or range. I bit the bullet and decided to swap out the screen. I removed the screen and wrapped it up and stored it in the loft. I started to strip everything down for a deep clean and to remove the smell of cigarettes

The machine was well dirty on the inside

I hunted around other forums that have more modern machines on and found that someone had used this monitor to use as it's very slim and a great candidate. The monitor I got was a LG 32MP58HQ

When I asked/looked about it turns out the monitor I bought people had only fitted in the Chinese clone machines and not in an Original. I started to panic a bit as my surround was different but I managed to make it work.

I'm pretty chuffed with how its turned out and massively impressed with the image quality

Hi, I am taking a part of my Vewlix F picked last week and I have been looking for info to replace the existing monitor… so I found your nice thread.

I am aware that a third-party monitor won’t fit well into the original frame. I wonder if you could share your technic to achieve that and the criticisms you met. It would be great if you have some pictures about that. Thanks

It would be great if anyone could indicate a guide about how to install a new monitor into a Vewlix. Thanks

I've not replaced mine as they're 1080p already and only have slight banding.
There was a tutorial on either arcade projects or arcade otaku in fitting an LG 32" and someone did a run of adapter plates. So google for those and it should help.

I did have a look at what was involved and I'm pretty sure if you hacked a cheap vesda mounting plate and used some strips of metal you could mount almost any 32" tv/monitor that was the correct dimensions with a flat bezel in there. You might need to add a couple of quiet fans for cooling purposes too...

Lucky you to got one already with a stock 1080p. The768p is a great monitor for all the Type X games and co. but with Steam games a new 1080p will be grant.

Yep, I saw a jungle of methods online to fit a new monitor but no one of those was a complete solution or we’ll explain guide… never found anything on Otaku, please send me the link .

Anyway, the VESA looks like the best way to try to me so far…

I'm thinking of grabbing that one on Ebay and converting it to a 4K gaming rig... But I need to raise funds and clear some space first.
