Hi, does anyone know if you have to pay tax from the states if you order from ebay.co.uk?
Was looking to order the replacement coin door lock as my cab never came with a key.

Check the customs and excise website.

As far as I know, if the item is not a gift you would need to pay tax

if you purchase a item from the usa of £15 or below then theres no custom tax to pay,more than £15 then you will be taxed,more the value the more tax you pay tax.

Also don't forget Royal Mail will also screw you for a handling fee as they pay the import tax and claim it back from you!

Thanks. Years ago if the item was labelled as a gift, you avoided tax/import duty. Sounds like that's no longer the case?

Goods sent as a gift that are over £36 in value are liable to import VAT
Customs duty also becomes payable if the value of the goods is over
£135 but is waived if the amount of duty calculated is less than £9.
