[ukvac] [Tech] Battery replacement
Hi guys,
Just searched the archives for "Tron+Battery" and nothing, but i really find
it hard to beleive this hasn't been attempted before by someone,
somewhere....
I would like to replace the battery on the power supply board of my Tron. I
have the info needed to bypass it for now so that i don't have to keep
waiting ten minutes for the machine to "boot up" each time i turn the thing
on and i'm going to do that tonight. But i'd like the high scores saving too
(not an unreasonable request!).
The battery is a "3.6vdc 60DEG-C", to quote the manual. This is fine. RS
show two or three PCB mounted batteries that match this criteria, but i
suspect this criteria is a little light on information!
Do i need to concern myself with charging rates/currents etc.? The 3·6V
11mAh (part no - 422-387) is a 2 pin NiMH jobbie. Can i just get one of
these and drop it straight in, or do i need to check the charging power
first?
If i need to check it, do i take the battery out (need to do this first
anyway to bypass it) and then check for the specific C/10(normal charge, ie
.36v) or C/100 (trickle charge, ie .036v) or is there more of a black art to
it than this
)
Thanks for listening to my questions yet again!, i really don't want to fry
the power board on this thing!
Guddler.
