[Tech] - Combat School

Got hold of a Combat School board which works like a dream, unfortunately,
it's the trackball version, not the stick version.

So, can anyone tell me:

a) Whether anyone can convert it for me (I belive it needs alternate
ROMS blowing)

or

b) Point me at details (inc suppliers of relevant parts) to build a
trackball based console to be interchanged with the stick console
on a generic cab (i.e. take off the board with sticks and buttons and
replace with a board of trackballs and buttons) - needs to include any
tips and gotchas working with trackballs.

Many thanks

Gaz

Dunno about a... But I would have thought it requires a more drastic
hardware change than just burning a few eproms...
But b. certainly, a trackball only requires +5V and Ground and gives back 4
outputs: vertical/horizontal pulses, vertical/horizontal quadrant. You can
easily 'snip' the wires going to your joystick and plumb a trackball in,
hell you can even wire up a switch/relay circuit to swap the connections
from joystick-to-trackball and leave it in there permanently.
