[ukvac] TECH: Invaders pt2
I've got a Taito Invaders pt2 three board set, which is only producing a b/w
signal - rather than the usual colour signal. I think the problems is that
IC12 is missing from the RAM board. See picture:

According to the schematic this is where P-ROM CV01 should be located. Does
anyone have this IC they would be prepared to sell to me or know of where I
could get one? Alternatively, if this is a programmable ROM, could anyone
programme one for me.

Cheers,
Steve

there was a black and white version of space invaders part 2 remember.. so
there's nothing wrong with your board.. is it just your preference to make
it colour?

when you say it just has a b/w signal, does that mean that you are just
getting a monochrome display out of the RGB outputs, or are you just getting
the usual b/w signal out of the composite video output?

Re: [ukvac] TECH: Invaders pt2
excuse my ignorance, the picture you put up kind of answer it..

however, just to confirm it, can you play the game in 2 player mode and get
it to flip the screen for the second player (cocktail mode)...

you should find that the second player game will be in colour as there is
one prom installed.

temporary fix, pull the prom out and plug it in the empty socket next to it,
you will have colour on the 1 player side, but not on the two player side..

I'm getting a programmer soon that will burn bi-polar PROMS.. sit tight :)

Andy, thanks for the advice. I moved the PROM over and the game now plays
in colour (although the colour map is upside down being the player 2
cocktail map).

If you could program a player 1 colour PROM for me it would be much
appreciated.

Cheers,
Steve
