[ukvac] Tech : JAMMA Cab - Further Info.

Thanks for the advice received so far
ref. the lack of coin input and sound output
on my JAMMA Cab.

I have checked the earth connections and there does
not appear to be a problem there.

I have not yet had chance to check the fuses in the PSU
but would like to confirm that, everything else works OK, the
games come up on screen and joystick/buttons are OK. It is
purely the fac that there is no sound and coins/credits
are not accepted.

Something else to mention is that each time I reset
the machine at, when powered back up 1 Credit is automatically
available for play on several PCBs where normally this
doesn't happen. This happens on Major Title and Power Spikes
(naff games I know!)

It is almost as if 1 credit / coin is being registered
when the power is switched on.

Immediately before this problem occurred, I had ben changing
the Major Title PCB for the Power Spikes PCB. Upon first power
up with the Power Spikes PCB installed, no display came up
and a high pitched whining noise was emitted from the cabinet.

I detached and carefully re-attached the JAMMA connector
and it powered up OK after that but without sound and
coin input. These 2 PCBs have since been tested in my
other, older JAMMA cabinet and they work fine in every respect
so the PCBs are not damaged.

Is it possible that by mis-aligining the JAMMA connector
I could have caused this problem? Unfortunately there is a
small amount of leeway when connecting which in its worst case
could have led to each pin being connected to the one adjacent
to its proper position e.g. PCB Pin 5 being attached to Jamma
connector Pin 4.

Sorry to ramble on, I'm just hoping that this info. may
shed further light on the problem.

Thanks Again
