[ukvac] [Tech] Neo Geo high pitched noise problem
My MVS-1F has got a high constant high pitched whine ( which starts after your put a coin in ( and the coin up sound effects are played ) )

I have looked back through UKVAC to 1999 where someone posted about the same problem, where people suggested that the slot might need cleaning etc. There was no conclusion to whether it actually got fixed or not. I have tried cleaning mine but its still there.

It happens on all my games (known working)

Any ideas anyone? Someone said to me it is a problem with the z80. I'm not sure this is the case as sound effects, speech and music are all present, its just there is this annoying high pitched noise over everything.

Any help would be great

I removed my ears at locations 9A and 9H, I soldered in some sockets and
then proceeded to fit the 74LSearplugs.

I then powered up the neo geo again, but this time I noticed I have no sound
at all.

Can anyone suggest anything that might actually work ?

R U sure its not your PSU ? I have had simiar problems withs boards
when the PSU was on the way out.

Definatly not. I have 2 identical neo geos and the other is fine (and i have
confirmed voltages are ok in said cab)
