[ukvac] [Tech] Phoenix / Pleides RomSwap
Okay, fairly well known fact that you can romswap a Phoenix for a
Pleaides. I know the melody chips should really be swapped too, but what
about color proms?

I can see from the mame code that they're not the same, just how bad is
it? Obviously I'll try it and find out.

What I need to know is, how do I know what roms go where in the Phoenix
board (burning Pleides roms) - a second set, just for the hell of it
before anyone thinks I'm about to wreck a Phoenix incidentally ;o)

The mame code lists these roms for the Centauri Pleides:

How do I know which ones go where??

I have in the phoenix board ic23, ic24, ic39, ic40, ic46-52

Same number of roms but the mame roms seem to lack 23 & 24, repeating 47
and 50. Anyone shed some light on what goes where please?

there has been a thread about this recently, some guy had a pleiades board,
it was actually pleaides runnign on phoenix hardware because the colours are
off..

the man annoyance is the fact some of the alien on the first round are
virtually invisible apart from their eyes...

other than that its easily playable..

Well, funnily enough it was that thread that prompted me to go out and
get hold of a dozen or so 2716's 'cause I thought one 100% game and one
playable but not quite right game may be worth a look at rather than
just keeping it as the one game...

But now I'm stuck knowing what roms to burn where!

Oh, AND SOMEONE SEEMS TO HAVE THAT SODDIN VIRUS AGAIN!!!

I have two of my own, a tehkan orig & a centuri one.

its obviously my fav game

both differ slightly...

one doesnt have the bug which I posted on KLOV.
