[ukvac] TECH: Stargate CMOS Problem + Batteries
The last few days my Stargate's CMOS RAM hass been playing up.
The custom message gets corrupted and reset at startup
The top 4 high scores get corrupted, they then get replaced with 4000
and no initials (just like it say it will in the manual)
I checked the battery voltage at the CMOS chip and thats OK (new batts
as well) Is it likely that its the CMOS chip thats at fault or
something else????
Is there anything that can be done to improve that battery performance
or remove the need for them altogether? I saw a posting the other day
about some one who was going to replace the CMOS with some sort of
non-volatile RAM, will this work????
