[ukvac] [Tech] Yet more monitor questions
Hi guys,
I need to replace two caps in my MTC9000. Namely the big mama (470uf 200v)
and one on the neckboard (??uf 200v - can't remember, but irrelevant).
Due to the point below, i can get to these easily without disconnecting
anything. Do i still need to discharge and remove the HT, or can i go ahead
and leave it all connected (the monitor has been off for two days now and
won't be going back on before hand)?
Secondly, the cab it's in doesn't make use of the metal cage. The chassis
bolts to a block of wood in the side of the cab (a BAS jamma cab), and the
tube only bolts to a round rotating bezel thing. This means there is no
metal to attach the tube's earth strap to. What should i do with it??? I'm
guessing, but i take it, it must go somewhere.
FINALLY, i ordered three caps that i missed first time round capping this
thing in the vain hope that might be why it's buggered again, for one of
them, i screwed up and accidentally ordered Non-Polar caps. Can i still use
these or do i have to throw them in the bin and try and get the proper ones?
I seems to recall that RS didn't have 22uF 35v in the normal ones - unless i
missed them.
