Hi all,

Martin dropped this beauty off yesterday. A huge thanks to Ordyne for doing me a fantastic deal on this. The cab is fully working and 99% restored; it's in stunning condition. Thanks Craig!

More and better pics in the days to come but just wanted to share:

Ahhhhh, nice.

I used to have one of these but didn't have space to keep it, so I persuaded a friend to have it in his house, a bachelor pad share. Went in spare room next to his Battlezone.

But then he moved on so I had to sell it, went to a chap called XYMan in Manchester along with my Space Duel.

It was something like serial number 00012 (or 15?) on the stickers, so I guess it was fairly rare.

But the best bit... and I'm kicking myself now for not trying more to keep hold of it...I was given it for FREE from an operator who was throwing it out still working! I hired a van for £35 to fetch it along with an Asteroids Deluxe cabaret, Missile Command tabletop, Warlords tabletop and few others he had also thrown out. That's why I had no storage space left after that haul, I had to farm most out to various friends until they got bored of them.

Those were the days...

That looks fantastic. I remember XY Man picked up a Tempest tabletop Cab from a friend of mine called Neil Ward, he had a bunch of other cool stuff he'd picked up as an arcade tech, including a working Firefox. To have a tempest tabletop and a Firefox in the same location would create enough coolness to disrupt spacetime. This could be the same table as it would have been bought by XY around 2000.

If Neil's out there, please PM me!

My Firefox U/R will be here in a couple of weeks and I am on the list for Mr Spicer's solid state LD replacement

I desperately need a screen for the Firefox guys - please help if you can - as far as people have told me it's just a standard 19" raster with horizonatal mounts, although some people perfer to drop G07's in these because of increased control over screen trim and the connector is a match for the stock loom?
