As you guys are clearly the best arcade podcast this side of the Atlantic, and Broken Token are clearly the best on their side, would you consider doing a joint special episode with them? I'm sure there's loads you guys can discuss together about our differing arcade cultures (past and present). Chip-shop Jammas, pubs and cocktail cabs and also the infamous Atari Ireland. There's a net flow of arcade cabs being drip fed to the UK from the US and I wonder how they feel about that too. We all know postage from the US is a killer so getting cap-kits and some multi-game kits to the UK is ridiculously expensive - those guys have it easy.

Otherwise, perhaps you'd consider letting someone put a master quiz together so that you can battle it out to prove who's the 'best' and most knowledgable arcading podcast?

Just an idea but I'd like to see it done

At last we get to Mr Do!

I think Vic's love of Dig Dug has put him off any love for some clown action until now

They are quite different games even though they look very alike.

I haven't played a serious game of Mr Do! in a long time, going to be fun shaking off the rust.

If anyone is interested in learning how to achieve large scores on Mr Do! I will be streaming my practice on Twitch from 9pm until as late as I can manage (Back pain might give me some grief)

Questions welcome, I'll read chat as I play - I have a mic and camera on my joystick so you can all see what I'm doing.

Great podcast, as usual. But Act Fancer? Really?! Good job the next one's Mr Do. Now there's a proper game. And one which might just about balance out the negative karma you've earned from Fat Chancer. Hope they've got it in Arcade Club, Leeds. Mr Do that is, not bad curry (!). If so, I'll be getting a few games in tonight and submitting another score.

That's a fantastic score. I seem to have platuexed at 143K, which I hit again today. Must be because of the super sensitive fire button on Arcade Club's Universal cab... Or maybe the fact that I'm rubbish. Lol. Think I'd better get watching some game play víds on the tubes.

Cheers QED, that's ossum. In fact, I'll watch it right now. Still got 40 mins to go of my 6 and a half hour return from Leeds :-( Would have been 5 and a half if the trains had connected. Thanks goodness for railway hostelries and IPA.

If I survive my run, I might just do that.

Been trying to put your tips into practice, with some success. Offsetting the apples and working the 5000 point letter thresholds are really helping to ramp up my score. Not quite got it dialled in yet. Sometimes, If I don't offset the apples far enough, wierd things happen, like all the monsters getting killed, but the alphamonster going round in a small circle until I hit it with a ball, or the pesky creeps deliberately running under the same falling apple, ending the round early, and robbing me of 1000s of points. I am regularly on 100K+ by level 7, though, which is an improvement. Just haven't had much chance to practice :-(, which is something I'll continue in another thread.
