Great podcast

loads of great stuff

btw guys I don't sound like a plonker in real life, I have always sounded stupid on record

My son loved his mention and said thanks for a great day. yep Shaun is right, its the RED smarties with the beetles shell food colour.

Crazy OTTO......... the port is on Atari 7800 not on the 2600. also there is a port of it on HBMAME called Crazy otto simulation

but because no one has actually ever played the real game it is but only a simulation of what the porter thought it would be like and the ghost AI is awful

btw I hoovered the mouse nest out of the cab. and its nice to know im not expendable as Roger had me hold the wire at one point. so nice to know im loved

Funny you mention Cameltry, even before you mentioned it to me in the car going to arc-aid I knew about that game sort of. It caught my eye a few weeks prior when I was scouring mame, the thing that made me take a second glance at it was the M in the title is a camels hump and it was a game I wanted to know more about. so that's one I defo gonna try out. but please wait till I setup my spinner before you choose that game.

Im glad you didn't add my Bumping Jugs score it was really bad compared to even the lowest score.

Great podcast guys!

Stern Astro Invader is also Taito Kamikazee. I am unsure which was first or if they are a direct copy or if there's subtle differences etc.

Thanks for the detailed write up, Neil. I'm going to listen to the podcast now.

The feedback NERG 2015 has got so far has blown me away. I'm truly humbled.

Another cracking podcast fellas, really enjoyed this as usual.

Thanks for the mention, was really nice to meet you Mr. Holley, and Vic as always it's a pleasure seeing you again. Thanks very much for supporting arc-aid, there's so few events down South so its much appreciated you made the effort to come along, the mouse nest in centipede brought much hilarity. I'll have to get myself up North again soon and I reckon NERG for me next year if it goes ahead.

I'm liking the new segments in the podcast, these help keep it fresh yet familiar which is a good thing I reckon. The mention of the new game by Rav sounds intriguing (I can't remember the name of it now) but the "coming up next podcast" bit definitely makes me look forward to it :)

Shamefully I didn't try jump bug, I've played it in mame before though its pretty obscure but certainly looks like an addictive game, it kind of reminds me of one of the weird universal games, I suppose rock-ola do quite odd stuff, nibbler is a good game too.

I remember viewpoint from ages ago, but can't recall if I ever played it on a home system or not. The trouble is with a lot of arcade games is that I read about loads of them in C&VG magazine so they get lodged in my memory, and I'm not always sure if it was something I played or read about.
Viewpoint is quite slick though, I'm a fan of isometric games - zaxxon, congo bongo, money money etc. and I've definitely played it in mame a few times before. I got confused between this game and vindicators, I thought it was an Atari game so quite interested that it's neo-geo, I'll have to get one of those multi game carts for my 6 slot cabinet.

As far as forgotten classics go I'll post something up in the thread for it, but camel try is awesome, I played it years ago in mame and come back to it now and then when I fancy something a little different. Indeed its just like the bonus level in sonic, there's really nice graphics on that game but yeah a spinner would be the way to go, not that I have one though.

Oh by the way I'm missing the awesome cartoon depictions of you guys in the picture, I hope you'll carry on with that it always gives me a good laugh.

Anyways thanks again chaps, look forward to seeing you both again sometime, in the meantime keep up the great work! :)

Hi Phil, I have just got round to writing up a proper review of my experience of NERG, which is over on the Meeting/Event section. Give it a read (when you have some spare time!!) and let me know how it shapes up.

NB: The quality of feedback is usually down to the quality of the event!!

Thanks again.

Neil.

Another great podcast, I probably missed the feedback boat this time round, as they are normally done at the weekend aren't they.
Really enjoyed this one, the pair of you are certainly melding well banter wise. Which works probably even more so when you are both together, like a couple of naughty school kids with a pocket full of 10ps! haha. Is the bit rate getting lower on these podcasts, to start with quality seemed very downgraded, but I think I just got used to it as the pod moved along. I wonder what this announcement from Oliver is, looking forward to hearing it in the next one.
