Many of the better vinyl cutting sign shops have special Gerber Edge
plotters that can not only cut vinyl, but also print on it in very dense
fade proof colours including transparent colours. Now if you were to
scan an overlay in on one of their large format scanners and print it
out onto vinyl........

In the pinball group we were contemplating how to scan a whole playfield
in to try and do this with vinyl under plastic. We reckoned it might be
the ultimate way to produce new playfields that couldn't be got as NOS.
