I did a search and this didn’t come up. Apologies if everyone except me was aware of this, but it’s a fascinating documentary style couple of hours following a guy passionate for the same as all of us - old video games.

Here’s the link if you were not aware:

King of Arcades

Well worth a watch. Also recommended and on prime is the story of Atari - “Easy to learn, hard to master”

i was on the kickstarter for this documentary and we were asked to submit photos for a montage sequence in the film. a few of us ended up being in it for a couple of seconds towards the end.

Cool, I did see the date was 2014, it seems it was remastered into HD in 2019 and picked up by Amazon. I found it by pure accident. I often find that the best things on Netflix and Amazon are the on es hidden away!

Watched this earlier and enjoyed it but, the whole Polybius thing at the end, that was just another one of Mr Knucklez pranks... right?

Anyone seen the movie it mentions - King of Kong?

I really enjoyed King of Kong. It was the first arcade-related documentary I watched many years back and it's still one of the best IMO. Definitely recommended.

I have it on DVD which I imagine must be pretty cheap to pick up now. It's also available to rent from Amazon for 99p: https://www.amazon.co.uk/King-Kong-Fistful-Quarters/dp/B00G04QRXY/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=king+of+kong&qid=1597443569&sr=8-1

Cool, I’ll check it out.
Just finished watching the King of Arcades.
I’m left intrigued as to what Richie is doing now, how is his health and is he still trying to beat the best score on Pole position?
It’s about 9 years ago it was all filmed I think.

Just watched it on Amazon. Really good documentary and Richie seems a really genuine bloke and is really enthusiastic about arcade games. Jon Stoodley from the UK is also credited in the making of this.
